TV3 highlights rise in hoax callers on Ireland's Paramedics

A new episode of Ireland's Paramedics will air tonight on TV3 at 8.30pm.

The episode shows a rise in hoax callers and how it leads to a dangerous drain on the ambulance services.

In the clip below a 13-year-old makes a hoax 999 call to the National Emergency Operation Centre in Tallaght.

The Caller says that he’s “barricaded in his house and he can’t get out because a robber came and cut his cousins legs off and took him on the bus Dublin”. The caller is warned about the repercussions of making a hoax call but calls back 12 hours later with the same story.
