Daniel O'Donnell talks about his friend Cliff Richard and the allegations he faced
Singer Daniel O'Donnell appeared on The Late Late Show last night to talk to Ryan Tubridy about his friend Cliff Richard and the recent allegations he faced regarding sex abuse in the UK.
Since Cliff Richard has had his name cleared, Daniel had been telling Tubs how Cliff was after the ordeal.
Daniel said; “He's good, He's very relieved.”
The singer elaborated on this by saying that although Cliff was delighted the whole thing was over, he was annoyed at how the whole thing was conducted.
Daniel said it appeared the media had been tipped off before any evidence was conclusive, but Ireland's most loved country singer also said that the amount of support Cliff recieved during the ordeal was great.
Speaking about the effect the allegations had on Cliff's life, Daniel said: “He was shaken by the experience, It was an incredible intrusion to his life.”
Daniel said you have to remember Cliff is a 75-year-old man who has given his life to entertain people and he couldn't understand why he had been treated in this way.
