As the world slowly comes to terms with the shock news that #Brangelina is no more, we hang on to anything that might may suggest that it’s all one big prank.

Ask Brad’s bestie George Clooney, he’ll know.

Turns out, he didn’t.

The actor was being interviewed by CNN while at a UN roundtable discussing the refugee crisis Tuesday, when the interviewer (who clearly didn’t want to have to ask the question) probed Clooney on his reaction to the split.

“What happened?” George responded.

YES, WHAT HAPPENED GEORGE!?

"I didn't know that. Wow. I feel very sorry then. That's a sad story and unfortunate for a family. It's an unfortunate story about a family," he said.

"I feel very sorry to hear that. This is the first I've heard of it."
