Move over Voice of Ireland - it’s time for Ireland’s version of Dancing with the Stars

It’s official, RTÉ have axed The Voice of Ireland to make way for Irish version of Dancing With The Stars.

Since launching five years ago, the talent show has had it’s share of backlash from viewers and every year without fail, there are rumours that the RTÉ bosses were looking to replace the show - but this time it’s for real.

Get your dancing shoes on, it’s time for Dancing with the Stars.

Speaking RTÉ Ten about the axing, host Kathryn Thomas said she enjoyed her time on the show and is looking forward to presenting Celebrity Operation Transformation on RTÉ in the coming weeks.

“It’s been an incredible journey over the past five years,” she said.

After taking part in Strictly Come Dancing across the pond a few years back, 2FM presenter Nicky Byrne is majorly rumoured to take the hosting job on the new show.
