Actress Juliette Lewis asks Twitter what ‘shifting’ is
Every Irish person that has lived abroad will be well used to answering those famous questions: “what’s ‘craic?” “how do mean ‘cop on’?” “The ‘press’? don’t you mean the cupboard?”
But it’s a bit different when it’s a famous Hollywood actress and she openly asks 'what shifting is?' on Twitter.
Actress and singer Juliette Lewis posted a gig announcement to her Twitter account yesterday with the caption, "LONDON #julietteandthelicks show JUST ANNOUNCED!! Get tics NOW. SO FCKN EXCITED TO PLAY UK AGAIN."

After seeing the tweet, disappointed Irish fan Paul decided to reply asking why she hadn’t announced an Irish date - as well as trying to remind her about that time they ‘shifted’ after a gig in Dolans pub, Limerick.
Of course, Lewis was baffled with the phrase and continued to ask her followers what he meant.
Let’s just say Twitter got creative - explanations such as “as Irish kiss”, “Its one stop short of The Cuir Isteach”, “same as snogging or wearing the face off someone” and “it's the fun bit before the pre-nup and the divorce” were all in the mix.

Dolans pub in Limerick also joined the convo by tweeting Paul, “In your dreams” but the eager fan continued to stay true to his word.
Thankfully, Juliette knows the meaning of ‘banter’.
Wow you are funny! 😂😂😂 https://t.co/u0tykEdY3q
