London Ciritics' Circle Film Awards name Saoirse Ronan British/Irish actress of the year

Saoirse Ronan has been named the British/Irish actress of the year at the London Critics' Circle Film Awards.

The 21-year-old won the accolade for her roles in the films Brooklyn and Lost River.

Mad Max: Fury Road was named film of the year, while its star Tom Hardy was named as British/Irish actor of the year, for his part that film as well as Legend, London Road and The Revenant.

Northern Irish actor, director, producer, and screenwriter from Belfast Kenneth Branagh, received the Dilys Powell award for excellence in film.
