Celine Dion plays New Year 'prank' on her audience

One of the world’s most famous power ballad singers, Celine Dion finished off 2015 by entertaining a group of diehard fans in Las Vegas.

Not only did she give them all of her classic hits, she surprised them with something a bit different.

“So tonight, if I may, I would like Adele to be part of our New Year’s Eve,” Dion announced from the stage.

We know, how very 2015 of her to invite someone to the stage?

But no, sadly the joke's on us as Adele was on the other side of the world at the time.

“Don’t panic, she’s not in the building,” the Canadian star added.

“Do we need to change the battery in my microphone? It kind of lost it a bit. Adele, hello? Hello?”

You can pretty much guess what happened next.
