Candice Swanepoel has come down with the flu days before the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

The South African beauty was expected to be among the star turns at the glitzy annual event, which is being staged in New York City on November 10, but her participation may be under threat after Candice posted a picture of herself on Instagram wearing an oxygen mask.

The 27-year-old star captioned the striking image: "Possibly the worst time ever to get flu. #doctordoctor (sic)."

She subsequently deleted the photograph from her Instagram account, but with the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show just days away, event organisers are sure to be concerned about the model's current condition.

This year's show is already building to be a memorable occasion, with Angels Kendall Jenner, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosia, Behati Prinsloo, and Lily Aldridge set to strut their stuff down the catwalk in their eye-catching ensembles.

And they will be joined on stage by Ellie Goulding, Selena Gomez and The Weeknd, all of whom are scheduled to perform at the event.

Ellie was announced as Rihanna's replacement for the show, after the 'Diamonds' hitmaker was forced to pull out.
