Hozier suing Chilly Gonzales for Take Me To Church plagiarism accusations

Hozier has reportedly lodged a defamation case in the High Court in Dublin after a Chilly Gonzales accused him of plagiarism.

Gonzales, who is a Canadian singer/songwriter/producer, has recently claimed that Hozier's Take Me to Church was almost exactly the same as his song How Come You Never Go There.

How Come You Never Go There was released by Feist in 2011 while Take Me to Church was released in 2013.

Speaking to The Irish Times, Hozier’s manager Caroline Downey has branded the allegations as “groundless” and confirmed that the Bray native will be taking legal actions.

Gonzales made the claims during a music masterclass on German station 1Live.

The clip was later posted on YouTube but has now been removed.
