Did you recognize this familiar Irish face from this weekend’s X Factor?
Were you one of the many people left baffled over the weekend as you watched Saturday night's instalment of the X Factor?
“I know him from somewhere,” Irish mammy’s all over the country asked.

Well, here’s a blast from the past.
It was no other than Joseph McCaul, the Athlone native who represented Ireland in the 2005 Eurovision Semi-Finals, with his sister Donna.
Ten years later, the ‘ginger Stevie Wonder’ is all grown up and still fighting for the spotlight.
The Irish singer first auditioned for the X Factor back in 2012 and made it as far as Boot Camp, but on this occasion he failed to immediately win the judges over.
Phew… 😅 Second song/time lucky for Joseph McCaul. Welcome to the Boot Camp crew. #XFactor pic.twitter.com/cE63INtqpC

Simon Cowell branded McCaul as good singer but a “horrible performer”.
Although luckily for Joe, his Irish charm won over the music mogul and he was invited back to perform another song.
Joseph's sister Donna has also appeared on The Voice USA several years ago, and currently lives in Los Angeles working as a singer/songwriter.
