Sam Smith hails 'amazing day' at GQ awards

Singer Sam Smith hailed an “amazing day” after he was named solo artist of the year at the 18th annual GQ Men of the Year Awards – hours after confirming he will sing the theme song for the latest James Bond movie.

Smith said he had been “keeping the secret” about singing the theme song for Spectre for a year, and couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate.
