Pretty Little Liars: We finally know who ‘A’ is

Last night’s episode of Pretty Little Liars was the one we had all been waiting for. Five and a half seasons of questions, answered. Spoilers ahead!

Last week we started a poll to see who you all thought ‘A’ was. Here are the results:

Lesli Stone: 1%

Andrew Campbell: 1%

Paige McCullers: 3%

Sarah Harvey: 4%

Detective Gabriel Holbrook: 4%

Noel Kahn: 4%

CeCe Drake: 6%

Jason DiLaurentis: 9%

The yet unseen Charles DiLaurentis: 12%

Someone else: 21%

Dr Wren Kingston: 35%

And it seems 94% of you were wrong. The producers did once say that we had indeed seen the face of ‘A’ before but gave no other details. And given that we’d waited so long to find out the identity, it also seemed likely they would lie.

The favourite to be ‘A’ from our poll was Dr Wren Kingston. This theory has been floating around for a while, despite the fact this character now lives in London and his girlfriend would have noticed him flitting off to the States for weeks at a time.

But the final reveal had everyone reacting like the five main characters, Emily, Alison, Hannah, Aria and Spencer.

No in the end it was CeCe Drake, played by Vanessa Ray. Who is Charlotte DiLaurentis. Who was formerly Charles DiLaurentis.

Last night’s episodes answered many of the burning questions that PLL fans have been asking for years now. How Toby’s mother really died. How Charles became CeCe. Why Charles was really committed to Radley. Who redcoat is.

You would imagine a sense of relief would follow but that is not the way of Pretty Little Liars.

Apart from the fact that we still don’t know who killed Alison DiLaurentis’ mother, the very last scene was a “Five years later” flash-forward in which we find out some unknown man is coming after Alison.

Very much a Desperate Housewives move but hopefully they’ll carry it off better.

So now we have a few questions yet to be answered from five and a half seasons and the missing five years as well.

And an entire season hiatus to ponder what could happen next.
