Love/Hate actress Susan Loughane victim of holiday scam

Love/Hate star Susan Loughane was set to escape the rain and jet-off to Portugal tomorrow, when she discovered she had fallen victim to a holiday scam.

The actress had paid a deposit of €500 for a villa in the south of Portugal through the booking service @OnwersDirect, and it wasn’t until she contacted the villa directly to confirm her stay, that she discovered there was never any booking in her name.

“We’re going away for ten days and there are young kids coming too,” she told Evoke.ie.

‘When we got in touch with the owner of the villa recently after paying the deposit, he’d never heard of us and said he didn’t have a booking”.

She then quickly took to Twitter to express her devastation, in which the company quickly replied.

According to Evoke.ie, Loughnane has since been offered alternative accomoodation but it was outside her budget.

"Obviously I understand that websites get hacked and that is not the company’s fault because it’s a security glitch, but the only solution they offered us was a villa three times the price," she added.

Susan will now have to put in a claim with Owners Direct's security team to get her money back.
