WATCH: David Beckham surprises deserving family with $100,000
“Knock knock”
“Who’s there?”
“David Beckham”
“Wait, what?”
This is the scenario the Gonzalez family, from sunny California, faced recently.
The former football star was taking part in Ryan Seacrest’s new TV show, Knock Knock Live, when he turned up on their doorstep.
The Seacrest show sees deserving families given a helping hand from their favourite celebrities.
“I’m here for a few reasons,” Becks announced.
“One of the main reasons why I’m here is I was told about your family and I was very honoured to come down here and to be welcomed into your home and actually meet you one-on-one”.
The father of the family, Victor, used be a professional soccer player in Mexico but had to give it up and take a job in construction to support his family.
He currently only sees them once a month due to work commitments.
“I know how much you work,” the former LA Galaxy player told him before handing the entire family new iPhones, and telling them their next 10 years of phone bills are already paid for.
He then presented them with a cheque for $100,000 (€90,000), had a glass of water and played a quick game of soccer - just your typical day in the life of David Beckham.
Just when we thought we couldn't love him anymore.
What a bloke David Beckham is 🙌
