LISTEN: The Edge was refused entry to bar in Boston

Moral of the story: always bring I.D out with you, even if you are as famous as The Edge.

Bono has revealed that U2 guitarist The Edge was refused entry to a bar in Boston this week because he did not have ID.

“Edge couldn’t get into a bar last night in Boston because he didn’t have ID,” the frontman announced from the stage at their in show in TD Garden arena.

“That’s an act of war where we come from!”

The band also revealed to Mix104.1 that they were planning to perform a secret gig in the pub that night, but all failed when The Edge was “thrown out”.

"There was [a plan to do a secret show] actually. Myself and Larry were going to do one in a little bar, but unfortunately I couldn't get in. They wouldn't let me in," The Edge said.

Doh! We've a feeling a certain doorman is going to get a very stern talking to.

The band's US leg of their 'Innocence and Experience' tour concludes with shows in Madison Square Garden, New York before they begin shows in Europe early September.
