WATCH: Ed Sheeran has a bone to pick with our Nidgey

Three sold-out shows, 80,000 people and one Love/Hate star - it's been a good weekend for Ed Sheeran.

As we all know, Sheeran is a big fan of the RTÉ crime drama, and channeled his inner fanboy by inviting actor Tom Vaughan Lawlor backstage for some banter before one of his shows.

Keeping cool-calm and collected, the pair recorded this insta-video captioned "Nidgey" for the singer's 4.2m follwers.

"Alright man, here with the main man Ed, about to go out and watch him on the show, can't wait for it," Vaughan Lawlor said in his tradmark accent.

"I have a bone to pick with him,” Ed cleverly responds confusing international fans.

And it wasn't just the reference to the show that was puzzling fans, "What language is he speaking?" commented one fan.

Let's just leave it as our little secret, eh Ed?
