Rapping granny from The Wedding Singer passes away at 101

Actress Ellen Albertini Dow has died at the age 101.

The centenarian, who was probably best known as the rapping granny in The Wedding Singer, passed away on Monday and details of her death have yet to be released.

Ellen was born in Pennsylvania in 1913 and later moved to New York to study music and acting.

Although she didn’t begin her career till she was in her early 70s, she has an extensive filmography.

You might even remember her from such blockbuster hits as Star Trek: The Next Generation, Sister Act, Wedding Crashers, Road Trip and Patch Adams.

She also did extensive TV work, featuring in episodes of The Golden Girls, Scrubs, Sabrina The Teenage Witch, the American verison of Shameless and even voiced the old woman in Family Guy.

Despite all that, she’ll always be the woman that stole our hearts with this little diddy:
