WATCH: Alf Stewart tells the people of Cork that he invented the term “Langer”
Home and Away legend Ray Meagher , who plays Alf Stewart in the Australian soap, landed on our shores over the weekend and he had a few things to say to the people of Cork.
Ray has been playing the role of Alf since 1988 and currently holds a Guinness World Record as the longest-serving actor in an Australian series - so you can imagine it was complete Alf-mania at the Bishopstown Bar as he visited Ireland for the first time.

Of course Cork’s RedFM DJ Colm O’Sullivan took this as an opportunity to introduce the Australian to some unique Cork slang, though Ray was quick to inform him that “[he] invented all those expressions” and we are not to forget it.
And whatever Alf says goes.
