Jennifer Maguire welcomes baby girl

Jennifer Maguire has given birth to her first child.

The Republic of Telly star gave birth to a little girl with husband Lau Zamparelli this morning, weighing a healthy eight pounds and four ounces.

Welcome to the world baby Florence Myra Zamparelli.

It was fellow Republic of Telly star Bernard O’Shea’s birthday on Wednesday, so the nation was hoping that Jennifer's baby would be born on the same day, but unfortunately baby Florence held on until after midnight to avoid that.

The 2FM DJ only went on maternity leave three days after her actual due date and was not shy about telling the world that she hoped her bundle of joy would not be born on St. Patricks Day.

Her Breakfast Republic co-stars Bernard O'Shea and Keith Walsh tweeted their congrats to the new mum by posting this disturbing picture of the 'new born'.

Jennifer and Lau announced they were expecting a baby last September - just two months after they tied the knot at the lavish Castle Leslie in Co Monaghan.
