The Strawberry Alarm Clock presenters Jim-Jim Nugent and Mark “Nobby” Noble were taken off air at around 9.20am this morning and the station’s Programme Director Dave Kelly came on air to confirm that they would be suspended for an unconfirmed period of time.

Killian O’Sullivan took over the show, leading into the 10-3 show, which he is also covering this week for Andy Preston.

The station also took to twitter regarding the suspension, but later deleted the tweet.

Radio Today reported that a press release from a PR agency acting on behalf of Aiken Promotions regarding the Ed Sheeran concert does not mention an embargo.

This, along with claims that other stations revealed the gig details before FM104, is fuelling speculation that it is simply a "PR stunt".

The station have since posted an explanation on their Facebook page, insisting that there was an embargo and the presenters are to face disciplinary action.

However, they also confirmed that the duo will be back on air tomorrow.
