Her performance in new film Gone Girl is expected to land her an Oscar nomination, but Rosamund Pike’s latest role will be on a much smaller scale - reading a CBeebies Bedtime Story.

The Hollywood actress, 35, who has just become a mother for the second time, is hoping to win over a pint-sized audience on the pre-school channel on Christmas Day.
