Gillian Anderson tells 'Ghostbusters' director 'cast me now'
Gillian Anderson has begged the 'Ghostbusters 3' director to hire her.
The 46-year-old actress took part in a Reddit 'Ask Me Anything' on Sunday and she admitted that she was very interested in getting a role in the film reboot which features an all-female cast.
When asked what she thought of project, Anderson made a plea to the movie's director, Paul Feig.
She wrote: "OH MY GOD, I just looked it up online. Paul Feig, cast me now! Start a Twitter petition! I'm free!!!!! I'm free I'm free and I'm funny, goddamnit!"
Another Redditor then joked about creating a petition to help the 'X-Files' star, to which she replied: "MAKE IT HAPPEN!!"
Anderson also hinted that a third 'X-Files' film could be in the works. When asked if the rumours about a sequel where true, she cryptically wrote: "Uh....uh... uh... Sorta kinda. Keep your ears to the ground."
Feig - who also directed 'Bridesmaids' - confirmed on Wednesday that he would be directing the 'Ghostbusters' film with the help of 'The Heat' writer Katie Dippold.
At the time he tweeted: "It's official. I'm making a new Ghostbusters & writing it with @katiedippold & yes, it will star hilarious women. That's who I'm gonna call."
