Kiefer Sutherland has been named Harvard University's Hasty Pudding Man of the Year.
The '24' actor will be honoured by the university's prestigious undergraduate drama society for his contributions in entertainment - including his Emmy Award-winning role as anti-terrorism agent Jack Bauer in the action-packed TV show - in a ceremony on Friday.
Kiefer, 46, will follow in the footsteps of this year's Hasty Pudding Woman of the Year, 'Rust and Bone' actress Marion Cotillard, who enjoyed a buoyant and colourful ceremony last week including a parade and a comedy roast at the university's Cambridge, Boston campus in Massachusetts.
The 'Touch' star - whose father is 'The Hunger Games' actor Donald Sutherland - shot to fame following a starring role in the critically-acclaimed 1986 coming-of-age drama, 'Stand by Me'. He has since appeared in a string of movies such as 'A Time to Kill', 'The Three Musketeers' and 'Phone Booth'.
Perhaps best known for playing Jack Bauer for nine years in the hit TV series '24', Kiefer earned an Emmy award, a Golden Globe award and two Screen Actors Guild awards for best leading actor thanks to his work on the show..
The Hasty Pudding Theatricals drama troupe honoured 'How I Met Your Mother' actor Jason Segel with the Man of the Year award last year.
