Wiig set for 'Anchorman 2' role

Kristen Wiig could be set to star in the 'Anchorman' sequel.

The 'Bridesmaids' actress is being approached to play Steve Carell's character’s love interest in 'Anchorman: The Legend Continues', TheWrap reported.

The film – due out next autumn – sees the original cast, including Carell, Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate and Paul Rudd, return.

The script is still being penned for the film, directed by Adam McKay.
