'I'm A Celebrity...' to feature snake-infested hotel
Stars of the next series of 'I'm A Celebrity…' will be able to check into a terrifying hotel in the new series.
Celebrities including actress Helen Flanagan and eccentric singer Grace Jones will be offered the chance to get away from the camp beds the show is famous for and into a hotel in the Australian outback.
However, far from being a sanctuary away from the bugs and rats, each door in the hotel will house a host of terrifying creatures, including scorpions and snakes.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "It's more of hote-hell than a hotel."
Other scary trials include a plane filled with bugs and a well crawling with creepy animals.
Other stars taking part in the forthcoming series including Hugo Taylor from 'Made In Chelsea', 'EastEnders' actress Charlie Brooks and Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts.
An ITV source said: "Producers are delighted with this year's line-up.
"They feel that there is a really good mix. They've been trying to find the right celebrities for a few months now and are pleased with who they have selected."
The presenters, meanwhile, have it much easier: they will be broadcasting live from the camp after each show, commenting on what's gone on, getting debate going among the celebrity panel, and interviewing the contestants once they are out.
"But we go in straight after some of the trials and those cockroaches, they have to go somewhere," says Whitmore, cringing.
"They don't just go back into their box, they're all over the floor and they smell. When we go in to interview the contestants you're like: 'Ooooh!', as they crawl up your legs."
Swash, who won 'I'm A Celebrity' in 2008 before landing the presenting role, adds: "When I first went, the Aussies told me about drop bears, these crazy koalas who come down from the trees and tear your face off. I believed it for about three years. Then I realised it wasn't true."
Beckett, a stand-up comedian who's taking the place of Russell Kane, admits to a sense of trepidation about going out to Australia for the first time.
"I've only ever lived in south east London - even the foxes have iPads," he jokes. "I think it'll be fun, but it feels like starting at school. I might struggle with keeping to English hours."
Swash admits to taking sleeping pills during the long flight over so he doesn't get too exhausted during filming.
"Last time the air hostess woke me up to say, 'You haven't eaten anything on the whole flight, are you sure you're all right?' I just slept," he says.
