'Coronation Street' character Toyah Battersby is returning to the soap.
Actress Georgia Taylor left the soap in 2003 to pursue other projects, but may make a comeback as a completely revamped person as part of an overhaul of the show by producers.
A source said: "There has been talk for a few months now that Toyah's character could return - which would be - brilliant news for Georgia who loved being in ‘Corrie’ all those years ago.
"There is endless scope for terrific storylines with her step-sister Leanne (Jane Danson)."
She first joined the soap in 1997 as part of the troubled Battersby family, and step-sister Leanne has recently mentioned her ahead of a trip to visit her in London in January, setting up a possible return.
Commenting on the possible return, Georgia said: "She's meant to have been in London for eight years so there should be a back story for that.
"And in a way I'd have to reinvent her because for most of the time on the show I felt I was playing a teenager.
"I'm 32 now - so automatically that changes things!"
