Deyn left 'brusied' learning how to strip

Agyness Deyn was left "bruised" learning to strip for her role in 'Pusher'.

The model-turned-actress plays a heroin-addicted stripper in the film and shadowed an exotic dancer as part of her preparations for the movie, but admits it wasn't a natural talent for her.

She said: "Jen is a stripper on the London scene and she walked me through her job and taught me all those moves you see in the film.

"It left me with a few bruises. And what she does is acting too, to get on stage and perform as that character in front of an audience. Her friends backstage all thought I was some kind of innocent. They nicknamed me 'Bambi'."

Agyness finds acting very different to modelling because it relies so much on portraying a feeling, rather than a look.

She explained to the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "Modelling is only about the look. In acting, it's the feel that matters.

"Flo's job is all about her body, and the way she uses her body is very sexual, but she uses it to mask her vulnerability. That's what makes her human. In modelling you only worry about the surface; you only have to have that feeling you want to portray for a second. But in acting you have to hang onto it, and let it evolve and grow inside you. When I first felt it happening I was like, 'Wow, that's cool.' "
