'X Factor' bosses curb contestants' hotel drinking

'X Factor' bosses have removed mini-bars from the hotel rooms of this year's contestants.

Producers on the hit singing show are concerned stars including Rylan Clark, Carolynne Poole and Lucy Spraggan may overuse their privileges at the swanky Corinthia Hotel - where a bottle of wine costs £45 - and have decided to remove temptation.

A source said: "The contestants have been spoiled with their accommodation and are being waited on hand and foot - but bosses can't foot the bar bill, especially if they're going to sink the amount of booze they're clearly capable of.

"The hotel is getting a lot of publicity out of this but they won't have acts running riot."

The move to curb the alcohol intake comes just after Louis Walsh's wild-card act Times Red were given a warning over their partying after member Staz Nair was seen drunk and naked in the corridors of the central London hotel.

A source said: "Times Red were the offenders on this occasion but they aren't the only ones to let things get out of control.

"The contestants are all allowed to drink in the bar downstairs and a few times things have got pretty raucous after they have gone back to their rooms."
