Public to get chance to choose 'X Factor' wildcard

Four acts dropped at Judges Houses' will still get chance to compete in 'The X Factor' live shows.

This weekend will see judges Tulisa Contostavlos, Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger unveil their three finalists, but on Sunday they will also be seen choosing a wildcard hopeful to be given a second chance.

The four acts - who have already been chosen and are living with the other finalists in London's Corinthia Hotel - will face a public vote, with the one scoring highest becoming part of the final 13 who will compete in the live stages of the show.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "We like to add new twists to the show every year and this time the public get to choose an act to be added to the competition.

"With the standard so high this year, the judges had a tough time choosing their three, so this gives another amazing act the chance to perform on the 'X Factor' stage."

Phone lines to vote for the wildcard entrant will open at the end of the show on Sunday and close at 12pm the following Saturday
