Brown and Rihanna exchange texts

Chris Brown and Rihanna have been sending messages to each other.

The couple split up in 2009 after Chris assaulted his then girlfriend but have kept in touch and after Rihanna reached out with a supportive message before his recent probation hearing, Chris texted Rihanna to compliment her on her latest single ‘Diamonds’.

A source told HollywoodLife.com : “Chris heard the track and fell in love with it and started busting out a few moves of his own when he heard it. He [thinks] it’s a hot…song and [he's] proud of Rihanna and her music.

“He texted her and was like ‘Love ‘Diamonds’. Am I shining enough?’ and she replied back saying something like ‘hell yeah.’”

While Rihanna has stated that in the past that she doesn’t want the incident to hinder Chris’ career, he is said to be supportive of her music too.

The source added: “He [wants] her album to do well, and [he's] supportive of her. He [likes] the art work too…”

Rihanna has also previously confessed to still loving Chris, despite his actions.

She said: "We went to a mutual friend's party on a yacht.

"It's awkward because I still love him. My stomach drops and I have to maintain this poker face and not let it get to the outer part of me."
