'X Factor' star Ward engaged

Shayne Ward is engaged, it has emerged.

The ‘X Factor’ winner proposed to his girlfriend of nine years Faye McKeever over a romantic dinner at London’s OXO Tower on Tuesday and announced the happy news on twitter where he posted a picture of them kissing with McKeever’s engagement ring clearly visible.

Ward tweeted: “I have just asked @fayemckeever to marry me and she said………….. YES! X.”

A clearly shocked Faye wrote on her own twitter page: “OMG @shaynetward has just asked me to marry him and I said…….YES!!.”

Earlier McKeever had tweeted about the couple’s romantic date at the restaurant overlooking the Thames river but she had no idea what was in store.

She wrote: “being treated to a beautiful meal at the @OXO_Tower with stunning views of the Thames @shayneTward thankyou x.”

The couple were celebrating their ninth anniversary at the romantic meal when Shayne popped the question.

He told his twitter followers on Monday: “Amazing to think it will be our 9 year anniversary tomorrow x@fayemckeever” before adding a message on Tuesday which read: “I Want to wish my beautiful @fayemckeever a happy 9th anniversary. Love you baba xxxx.”

The singer recently finished his run in ‘Rock of Ages’ in London’s West End and is reportedly planning to return to the studio to record new material.
