Photographer claims Jay Kay hit him first
The photographer accused of headbutting Jay Kay claims the singer punched him in the face first.
Alan Grisbrook says there could have been a clash of heads in the ensuing melee, but it was 'nothing deliberate'.
It's reported Jay Kay, who claims Grisbrook assaulted him first, thought the photographer had kicked his new Bentley.
Grisbrook told The Sun he was taking pictures of Jay Kay through the window when he claims he was hit by the singer.
He said: "The car drove off and I heard someone may have kicked a door. It certainly wasn't me. Next, Jay Kay was barging among photographers asking who damaged his car.
"I said I didn't know what he was on about and suggested we go and see a policeman."
He claims he was assaulted but managed to get away. "I don't remember butting him. There could have been a clash of heads, but nothing deliberate."
Scotland Yard is investigating.
A spokesman said: "We can confirm two males have made contradictory allegations of common assault against each other. An investigation is continuing."
