This American texted every Irish guy she met while here - and their responses are hilarious

One American woman’s Valentine’s Day experiment on some Irish lads has gone viral.
This American texted every Irish guy she met while here - and their responses are hilarious

Victoria Trocino, who is from upstate New York, spent some summers in Dublin and, of course, spent a lot of time socialising.

We’ve all been there," she wrote on her blog.

"We go out, we have fun, we meet someone who is engaging, funny, flirty, and…totally drunk. We dance and maybe kiss at one point but we both know it’s not going anywhere, so we exchange numbers as a formality and leave with our respective friends, never to speak to that person again."

On Valentine’s Day, Victoria, now back in America, decided to have a little fun with a few of those random Irish guys she’s met over the course of her visits and texted them each a Valentine’s greeting to see how they would react.

She sent out 17 - and four guys responded.

And as you can imagine, it’s a typical mix of the polite, charming and crass.

First up, Niall.

Victoria was surprised he remembered her as it had been seven months but it seems that’s just the kinda guy Niall is.

"He was actually a nice guy and his responses were tame enough so I left the conversation there because moments later I got a text from a contact saved in my phone as ’Penguin Erector’."

Well, you would.

Penguin Erector is so-called because he told Victoria that he worked at Dublin Zoo picking up penguins that had fallen over.

Which can’t be a real job (although if it is, sign us up!).

Leaving aside the weird LinkedIn request, talking about your current fling with another girl?

Not cool, Penguin Erector. Not cool.

As Victoria writes:

"Someone PLEASE find his "new lady" and send him this post because the Penguin Erector needs to be STOPPED, now"

Ryan responded next and you would hope that his responses would mend any damage Penguin had done to the Irish reputation.

But nope.

"He confused me for some other Victoria with ’yellow hair and big tits’ (FYI Ryan it’s called blonde hair)," she wrote.

"..and then he wanted to dive right into the most embarrassing political question an American could receive right now."

Come on, Ryan.

Luckily, Isaac then texted her and redeemed all Irish men forever in Victoria’s eyes.

She writes:

"We’re all just one small bum compliment away from never being lonely again."

Good man, Isaac.

Victoria finished off her post- which has been shared widely both here and in America with:

"Man, I miss Ireland."

Too charming for our own good.
