Stranger's act of kindness brightens up mother's bad day

We’ve all had days where everything seems to go wrong. For Alabama mother Melissa Pell, Thursday October 29 was one of those days.
Stranger's act of kindness brightens up mother's bad day

"Me and my husband woke up and split out last ten dollars for gas, for him to go to work and for me to make it to my doctor’s appointment," Simms told local station Fox News 6.

"All day I was stressed about how am I going to make supper for my kids."

While the mother-of-five was seeing the doctor, her son stayed in the waiting room, listening to music. A woman approached him, handed him an envelope and told him to give it to his mother. Melissa’s son then gave it to her in the car park.

In the envelope, was a €100 bill and a note that read:

’I’ve had days like you are having today. Hang in there. Joshua 1:9’.

The Bible passage Joshua 1:9 reads:

’Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go’.

Simms says she was completely stunned and began to cry.

"It is a complete feeling of peace, just like everything is going to be OK," said Simms.

She shared a photo of the note on Facebook with the caption:

"I was having one of those days where it just seemed everything was going wrong and then....a unknown woman which I will call her an (EARTHLY ANGEL) handed this to my son while we were at the doctors office to give me.

"This made my whole entire day THANK YOU and I will pay it forward! I have read about these random acts of kindness, but this is the first time I have ever experienced it first hand!!! Just thought maybe this could cheer up someone’s day as much as it has mine!!!"

Now Simms hopes to find the woman to thank her:

"I don’t know what she looks like, I don’t know her name, but I hope I get to meet her to say thank you."
