Cork woman returns hotel's missing spoon with apologetic poem
When Corkwoman Catherine Leggett returned home to Ballinhassig from her holiday in Wexford, she discovered that she had picked up a little travelling companion unbeknownst to herself.
When she went to empty her washbag, inside she found one of the teaspoons from the Talbot Hotel, Co. Wexford.
Now normally if this kind of thing happened, many people wouldn’t think twice about returning the untensil, it is after all a teaspoon, which we are sure hotels have in abundance.
Not Catherine though, she wrote a lovely poem/letter to Mr Talbot to apologise for what happened.

The hotel have stated that this one of the most unique reviews that they have ever received and it would have a permanent place in the hotel once framed and mounted in the lobby.
The story of the wandering spoon received such interest that Catherine and her mother were rewarded with a return stay in the Talbot Wexford and Afternoon Tea, courtesy of the hotel.
“I never thought it would draw so much attention. I love writing rhymes so I thought I would have a bit of fun and write this to send back with the spoon," said Catherine.
"We had such a wonderful time in the Talbot, everyone was so helpful”.
Philip Gavin, Managing Director of The Talbot Collection said, “Catherine is an honest woman and we are honoured that she took the time to write such a wonderful review of our hotel and staff.
"We look forward to giving her a warm welcome when she returns to the Talbot”.
Fair play to Catherine for proving a little honesty and kindness can get you deserved rewards.
