Noel Canavan and Ciara Kavanagh, both 27, have been going out for nine years, and Noel decided the Bray Air Show was the perfect spot to pop the question to his childhood sweetheart.

Noel showed the world his love for Ciara by asking her to be his wife through a giant banner attached to an overhead plane.

Ciara, who attends the Air Show each yea with Noel, said yes.

The pair, from Wicklow, were presented with two plane tickets to Paris and a bottle of champagne by Martina McDermott, head of marketing at CityJet.

Director of the Air Display, Sé Pardy, was happy to help the young couple.

“It was a wonderful aerial surprise for Ciara and on the air show’s ten year anniversary, we were able to make the event extra special for them both," he says.

"All of us here at the Bray Air Display and Bray Summerfest wish Noel and Ciara the very best for their future together and it goes to show that love is definitely in the air!"

Over 90,000 people attended the 10th annual Bray Air Display show today.
