UK student gets head stuck in a bottle bank

How far would you go for a tenner and a Big Mac on a night out? One student went head first into the bottle bank and was stuck there for quite a while.

19-year-old Chelsie Redwood had to be rescued by firefighters from a bottle bank after a dare went hilariously wrong.

The fashion student, who attends Solent University in Southampton, had been drinking with friends prior to the incident.

One friend promised to give her £10 and a Big Mac burger if she put her head into the bin, but they didn't think she would become trapped there.

Onlookers recorded videos on their phones and the photos of her ordeal soon spread around on social networking app Snapchat.

She was eventually freed following the arrival of a special equipment unit from nearby Redbridge which used cutting equipment to release her.

Chris Rashleigh of Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service says he believes it was "a student night".

"I imagine she was looking for more drink. I think she had been there for a little while by the time we got there.

"When the fire crews turned up, the girl was surrounded by friends with her head stuck in the bin with both feet on the ground.

"The girl eventually managed to pull herself free with the aid of a firefighter."

"'I will never do that again," said the embarrassed student upon her release at 3.29am.

We hope she got her burger and money in the end!
