Like father, like daughter. Bonoâs eldest daughter, Jordan Joy, continues to follow in her musical dadâs footsteps with the release of her first single under her own name.
which was co-produced by Catherine Marks (Wolf Alice) and Jackson Phillips (Day Wave), was released last Friday.
It has since been widely supported by major streaming services, including Apple Music and Spotify, and has been praised by REM frontman Michael Stipe, John Lennonâs son Julian Lennon, actress Jessica Alba, and Irish TV presenter Laura Whitmore, among others.
The new release is not Joyâs first venture into music, with the 36-year-old previously releasing three songs under the alias Tenderhooks.
Posting on Instagram ahead of the songâs release, Joy wrote: âExcited to share this song.. is one for the kitchen party. I wanted the sound to bring me back to indie New York, and what I was listening to when I lived there.âÂ
She thanked Catherine Marks and Jackson Phillips for working on the track with her, and thanked her friends for encouraging her to put it out into the world.
She also teased that there is âmore to comeâ.
The highly promising release comes just weeks after U2 revealed their first new collection of music in eight years. The two EPs, and have been widely acclaimed by fans and music critics alike.
