Six For Your Radar: Triskel jazz, The Drama, Dónal Dineen

The Triskel International Jazz Programme 2026 brings the acclaimed Nils Petter Molvær to Cork for what promises to be a special gig. A Norwegian composer, trumpeter, and producer, he plays a melange of jazz, ambient, and myriad other genres that meld into intense soundscapes. He was a member of European jazz supergroup Masqualero between 1983 and 1991, and has released three albums for ECM.
With special guest Hewan Mulugeta, a Dublin resident DJ originally from Ethiopia, Dónal Dineen returns to West Cork for a special Easter edition of his clubnight Backstory. He guides the room through the sounds and influences that shape the music we love, creating an atmosphere that feels intimate, warm, and completely absorbing.
One of the defining indie rock bands of the noughties, We Are Scientists celebrate their 2006 debut with a European tour that kicks off in Cork. Mainstays Keith Murray and Chris Cain will play the album in full — from to and — alongside highlights from their eight-album catalogue. Still going strong.

Set a decade and a half after and based on the 2019 novel of the same name by Margaret Atwood, follows Hannah, known as Agnes (Chase Infiniti) and Daisy (Lucy Halliday), two teens in Gilead who must navigate an elite preparatory school where obedience is brutally enforced. The pair form a bond that begins to challenge the strict systems of control shaping their lives.
Co-authors Ailín Kennedy and former journalist Mike McGrath-Bryan, both diagnosed with ADHD in their 30s, bring their own experiences alongside insights from nine inspiring interviewees. Together, they provide an honest and comprehensive look at life as an ADHDer in Ireland, from assessment and diagnosis to treatment and navigating everyday challenges. This guide is a toolkit for self-understanding and self-advocacy, addressing stigma and celebrating the positives of ADHD while acknowledging its hurdles. The designer Joel Olympio will be in conversation with them at Dubray.
