Adam Scott will star in Hokum, which is released on May 1.

The first trailer for Hokum has been released, with Severance star Adam Scott leading the supernatural horror movie which was filmed in west Cork last year.

Scott plays a horror novelist who visits a remote Irish inn to spread his parents’ ashes, unaware of rumours it is haunted by a witch.

Hokum, from Bantry filmmaker Damian McCarthy whose 2024 horror  Oddity proved to be a smash hit with audiences and critics, was shot at West Cork Film Studios.

The opening of the studios, based in Skibbereen, was warmly welcomed in 2023 when it was officially opened by Oscar winner David Puttnam.

Hokum is in cinemas from May 1.
