Woman dead and teen airlifted to hospital following crash

A woman has died and a teenager has been airlifted to hospital following a crash in Co Meath.

The collision occurred on the N51 at Boyerstown at approximately 7.45am on Thursday morning.

A woman, aged in her 40s, who was a passenger in the car was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Her body has been removed to Navan mortuary and an autopsy will take place in due course. The coroner has been notified.

According to a Garda spokesperson, a teen, who was a passenger in the same car has been airlifted to CHI Temple Street for treatment of serious injuries.

The driver and a third passenger (both female) were brought by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, with serious injuries.

The driver and sole occupant of the second car was brought to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The N51 at Boyerstown has been closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Man died in Meath crash on Thursday morning

Separately, gardaí confirmed a man died in a collision in Co Meath in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The fatal crash involving a truck and a van occurred on the M3 at Dunshaughlin, shortly after 2am.

The driver of the van, a man aged in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was removed to Navan mortuary where an autopsy will take place in due court. The coroner has been notified.

"The driver of the truck was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown as a precaution," said a spokesperson.

The northbound lanes between Junctions 5 and 6 were closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to both incidents.

It brings to 36 the number of people killed on Irish roads so far this year, up from 30 in the same period in 2025.
