Alex Murphy is set to return as loveable Cork rogue Conor for a Christmas special of The Young Offenders.

Conor, who is notorious for committing petty crime and getting into difficulty with his best friend Jock, will return to our screens this December alongside Conor’s mam Mairéad, played by Hilary Rose and Seargent Healy played by Dominic MacHale.

Jason Byrne will make a guest appearance in the episode alongside the familiar faces that fans of the show have grown to love.

The comedian will appear in the episode as Cork gangster Jack Hammer who turns out to be the only person that Billy Murphy played by Shane Casey is terrified of.

The plot revolves around the preparation for the imminent arrival of Mairéad and Seargent Healy’s baby.

The Christmas special will air on BBC One on Friday, December 20.

The fourth series of the show created by Peter Foott aired on BBC in May and a fifth series is yet to be announced.
