Planxty reign supreme in the trad genre, but the new generation have plenty to offer too. 

Will trad music ever rest easy? People used to say that there would be no peace in Ireland until the Wolfe Tones decommissioned their instruments. We used to laugh. 

However, given the hand grenades John Sheahan and Phil Coulter were throwing around this week in a Sunday Independent piece, maybe we laughed too soon.
