Five For Your Radar: Blindboy, Chappell Roan, and more...
Chappell Roan and Blindboy are among Eoghan O'Sullivan's selections for next week
Having kicked off last week, Cork Podcast Festival rolls on this weekend with some more familiar faces - and voices - coming to town. The ever-spooky/icky is Live at St Luke’s on Friday, Matt Cooper and Ivan Yates bring their pod to the Opera House on Saturday, ahead of a mooted general election later in the year, and the irrepressible Blindboy returns there on Sunday night.
The fourth year of the one-day, volunteer-led, not-for-profit festival features a strong lineup that showcases Cork’s burgeoning music scene.

Cardinals and I Dreamed I Dream are drawing widespread praise and seem poised for big things. They’re joined by The Men From Manhole, Mossy, Single Men In Their Twenties, and Galway act Telebox.
John Robb is different things to different people: Punk, author, musician, journalist, cultural commentator. He returns to Cork with a new live show entitled Do You Believe in the Power of Rock & Roll?, based on last year’s book of the same name chronicling 40 years of music writing from the frontline.

He’ll be posing the question to Altered Hours frontman Cathal Mac Gabhann. Tickets free but you have to register to attend. Robb is on a tour of Ireland, with different guests at each location, not least Spider Stacey of The Pogues for his visit to Clonakilty Guitar Festival.
Simply put, one of the hottest names in music right now, Chappell is in Dublin for a relatively intimate show at the Olympia. Tickets are long sold out for a pop star whose big, extravagant tunes, like 'Good Luck, Babe', have connected with a devout audience. The next time we see her will be in much bigger venues.
Prince Andrew's still jaw-dropping interview with Emily Maitlis took place on BBC Newsnight almost five years ago.

Netflix's feature-length Scoop, about the interview, was released earlier in the year but now, with Maitlis herself onboard as executive producer, Prime Video releases a three-part dramatisation, with Ruth Wilson as Maitlis and Michael Sheen as Prince Andrew.
