TV Review: The Boys is still funny and gory — but there's déjà vu too
Amazon Prime's The Boys
The superhero movie has been a feature of popular culture for the past 20 years. With so many capes flapping in the breeze, it was inevitable someone would get around to satirising the oeuvre of Iron Man and Wonder Woman —a nd that is the mission to which has merrily signed up.
Adapted from a comic book by Northern Ireland writer Garth Ennis, the show has a gleeful take-no-prisoners’ energy and a glintingly sharp sense of humour.
