If you woke up tomorrow morning and discovered you had superpowers, you probably wouldn’t rush out to get a spandex outfit and a cape and start fighting baddies in the streets. Your life would probably stay much the same, except you’re now able to do extraordinary things, and you’d be left reeling with questions about how this has happened and what the point of it all might be.

Supacell, the new Netflix series created, written and directed by Andrew Onwubolu – better known as Rapman – tells the story of what happens when a group of five ordinary south Londoners, with no clear connection except that they are all black, unexpectedly develop superpowers.
