What's this all about?

Summer gig season continues in Cork at Virgin Media Park, Tramore Road, Cork city — better known to locals as Musgrave Park, one of the homes of Munster Rugby, as well as being used by Dolphin and Sunday's Well RFCs.

MCD Productions runs and promotes the annual mid-summer programming at the stadium.

Each year the venue is host of a number of Irish and international artists as part of the string of summer concerts.

Who's on the billing this year?

Friday, June 14 started the season with UK dance/pop chart-topper Becky Hill, while pop-rock reliables Picture This headlined on Saturday, June 15.

Sting and Blondie played an all-star double-header on Tuesday, June 18; Take That made their Cork debut on Thursday, June 20; Dublin house duo Belters Only headlined on Friday, June 21; while Sunday, June 23 saw another blockbuster double-header, as Crowded House shared the stage with The Waterboys

Country-pop icon Shania Twain stops by on Tuesday, June 25; hometown pop hero Cian Ducrot plays his biggest gig ever on Friday, June 28.

Off the back of an unlikely live resurgence in recent years, The Wolfe Tones play what is likely to be their final Cork gig, before their stated retirement at the end of this year, on Saturday June 29.

Who is supporting Shania Twain?

English singer Rag'n'Bone Man and Australian singer and actress Delta Goodrem will be entertaining the crowd before the Canadian star takes to the stage.

Rag'n'Bone Man recently announced his third album which is due to be released later this year.

Where can I get tickets?

All tickets are available on Ticketmaster.ie, with promoters and vendors warning people to be wary of possible ticket scams online.

Be quick, though — most listings on the Ticketmaster website have the gigs down to low or limited availabilities.

Pitch and Gold Circle tickets are strictly over 16’s, and are standing-only. Unreserved seating tickets will be first-come, first-served as far as locations.

Gig-goers are asked to download tickets to their Ticketmaster apps in advance —  screenshots will not be valid as barcodes are live, and updating regularly.

What are the age limits?

Under-16s must be accompanied by an over-25 adult.

Under-14s must purchase seated tickets.

How do I get there?

The stadium itself is on Tramore Road, on the city's suburban southside.

  • It's about 38 minutes' walk from Cork city centre, according to Google Maps, and the 203 and 213 buses stop nearby.
  • Iarnród Éireann trains and various national and regional bus routes to Cork city are available.
  • The park is in a residential area — there will be no parking facilities available at the venue, and towing will be in operation. Promoters suggest the use of the Black Ash car park.
  • There will be local road closures in place on show days to facilitate safe crowd movement, managed by An Garda Síochána.

What if I need accommodations?

Contact the promoters in advance via email at customercare@mcd.ie if you have queries or requests including access, toilets, and dietary requirements.

What else do I need to know?

  • The usual big-gig searches and checks apply — no bags over A4 size, no glass or cans, umbrellas, alcohol, garden furniture, selfie sticks, flares, etc. Check mcd.ie for the full list.
  • Leave plenty of time to get to and from the venue — promoters encourage the use of public transport if possible.
  • Follow the instructions on your ticket regarding entry points to the venue, from either Tramore Road's Gate B or Pearse Road's Gate C.
