Born in the USA but it seems as though Bruce Springsteen cannot get enough of Ireland, and tickets have been in big demand.

Just weeks after he played three sold-out nights in Dublin's RDS last May, talk began about Bruce Springsteen's return.

Hopes came true last week as it was announced that Brucie and the E Street Band will indeed bring their world tour to Ireland.

The tour will play a total of 22 European stadium shows in 2024. Beginning in Wales on May 5 the European tour will end with a show in Wembley Stadium on July 25.

Although the 2023 European tour sold over 1.6 million tickets, many fans were left disappointed and hoping this will be their chance to catch the New Jersey singer live.

Here is everything you need to know.

Where and when is he playing?

In a welcome change to this year's three Dublin dates, Irish fans will be treated to four nights spread across the island.

They will play Boucher Road, Belfast; Nowlan Park, Kilkenny; Páirc Uí Chaoimh, Cork; and Croke Park, Dublin.

The Irish leg of the tour will begin in Belfast on Thursday, May 9 before heading to Kilkenny on Sunday, May 12.

Then the following week, it's on to Cork on Thursday, May 16, and wrapping up in Dublin on Sunday, May 19.

When are tickets going on sale?

Tickets went on general sale for all four Irish dates on Monday, November 6, at 8am.

Unlike recent big-name concerts, there will be no need to register for tickets ahead of time and there are no pre-sales.

The Cork and Kilkenny gigs were sold out within 90 minutes, but at noon on Monday, tickets were still available for The Boss's gigs in Dublin and Belfast.

How much will they cost?

Tickets are the same price for all three of Springsteen’s gigs in the Republic: Seats - €168.80/€153.80; Standing €143.80.

Belfast is all standing, with tickets at £126 (€145).

UK dates are priced at £174 front pit, £131.15 general standing, £75.85-£174 seated and £81.45-£185.50 aisle seated.

Where do I get tickets?

You can get your tickets from Ticketmaster.ie.

Click on the venue of your choice to be directed to the correct page: Belfast, Kilkenny, Cork, and Dublin.

Or you can download the Ticketmaster app which is available on both Apple and Android devices.

How can I improve my chances of getting a ticket?

There aren't really any tricks to getting yourself tickets for a gig where demand is very high but there are things you can do to make sure you're properly prepared.

If you have not already created a Ticketmaster account, do so before Monday morning.

Already an account holder? Make sure all of your details, especially payment details, are up to date.

It is a good idea to have a separate card to hand in case of any issues.

It hopefully goes without saying but be sure you have a strong and stable internet connection. The last thing you want is to be near the end of the transaction and have your connection drop.

If using your phone, turn off your screen timeout or set it for its highest time. You do not want your screen to go dark while waiting to get your tickets.

Don't just be on time, be early. Tickets go on sale at 8am but a virtual waiting room will open ahead of this time.

Ticketmaster suggests joining the waiting room at least 10 minutes prior to the sale time but waiting rooms can open up to 30 minutes ahead of time.

Once you are in the waiting room, do not leave or refresh the page or you will lose your spot. This also applies while in the queue.

When the sale begins, you will get a spot in the queue

and it will tell you how many are ahead of you. This number will update itself as the queue moves along.

A spot in the queue does not guarantee you a ticket.

If you get to the top of the queue and there are still tickets available, do not panic.

Make sure you are searching for the type of ticket you want and within the pricing that you are willing to pay. Mistakenly searching for the wrong tickets will just slow you down.

Once you get your tickets, complete the checkout process within the timeframe shown on your screen.

Can I use multiple devices to search for tickets?

You can search for tickets on multiple devices and tabs.

You can also search from more than one account, however, it is not advised to purchase from more than one account.

This will be viewed as unfair buying practices and an attempt to circumvent ticket limits. There is a chance that Ticketmaster may cancel tickets that have orders or accounts associated with the same name, email address, billing address, card number etc.

I didn't get a ticket, what now?

If you don't manage to get your hands on tickets for the gig you wanted, all hope is not lost.

Between now and next May, there will be people who will (for any number of reasons) find that they can no longer go and will put their tickets up for resale on Ticketmaster.

It is worth popping on now and again over the coming months to see if any tickets have been returned.

If you are one of those people who has to resell their tickets, be sound and don't ask for an extortionate amount from a fellow fan.

How is Springsteen's health?

Springsteen was forced to cancel tour dates in August and September before it was decided that the remainder of the 2023 tour dates would be postponed.

In a statement on September 27, a spokesperson said that Springsteen was recovering from peptic ulcer disease and will continue treatment through the end of the year.

Peptic ulcers are open sores that develop on the inside lining of the stomach. The most common symptom is a burning stomach pain, according to the Mayo Clinic in the US.

It was said that the decision to postpone was out of an abundance of caution.

Springsteen himself said: "Thanks to all my friends and fans for your good wishes, encouragement, and support. I'm on the mend and can't wait to see you all next year."

The rescheduled dates will now take place in March and April ahead of the European dates with the remainder to be played in August and September.

The 2023 tour marked the 73-year-old's first major tour in six years.
