7am

Ruben, my five-year-old son wakes me for cuddles. I head downstairs for a cup of Matcha, a Japanese green tea rich in antioxidants. It’s great for calmness and clarity of thought.

8am

Meditation time. Like other working mums trying to adapt to Covid-19 realities, I grab the opportunity while Ruben is watching TV in the background.

8.30am

We eat breakfast outdoors if the weather is nice, the wild strawberries have just ripened so we love to pick some for a sweet breakfast topping. I try to keep it healthy - oats soaked overnight, homemade soda bread. Afterwards, Ruben does a Joe Wicks exercise video while I do yoga, Sometimes he joins me, and it’s a much shorter session.

10am

As travel to the homes of private clients or the offices of corporate clients is not currently possible, my yoga classes are online via Zoom or Facetime. I do all kinds of yoga - for me, it’s about facilitating people to find what suits them. I’m not a naturally bendy person, so I understand what tight hamstrings feel like. It really doesn’t matter what type of body you have once you find a type of yoga that makes you feel good.

11am

I have a class with a corporate client where we focus on chair yoga. You can do pretty much any yoga from a chair. If people are sitting down all day working, it helps make their bodies feel better. Chair yoga is also good for the elderly or the physically challenged.

Noon

After lunch, Ruben and I do a huge walk or trail run. There are great trails near where I live in Delgany, Co Wicklow. I’m not from here originally. I was born in London and grew up in Nepal where my parents ran a trekking lodge in the Himalayas. I’ve been doing yoga since I was little, but I only got into teaching it fulltime 12 years ago.

3pm

I have an online yoga class with a private client who finds it great for stress relief. Recent research by Sudocrem - which I am partnering with for its Soothing Families campaign - shows that 43% of parents often find themselves feeling stressed.

6pm

I watch a movie with Ruben and we share homemade air popcorn. Once he’s in bed, I practice the Wim Hoff breathing technique.
