Wednesday's TV Highlights: Behind the scenes with Michelle Obama as Becoming hits Netflix
Here are our top TV picks for today.
Becoming
Netflix, from today
Documentary on Michelle Obama that follows the former US president's wife on a tour to promote her memoirs. Even bearing in mind that it's an officially-sanctioned film, she cuts an impressive figure throughout.
Polished and media-savvy, she's also affable and articulate, and the snippets of biography we get along the way provide a fascinating insight into life for black Americans.
Mrs Obama is quite candid about the human cost of being the president's wife, and she sounds glad the experience is over.
With her message of unity and decency, it's also impossible not to make comparisons with the current clan living in the White House.
Save Me Too
Sky Atlantic, 9pm
If you've resisted the urge to binge this show online, terrestrial viewers get the final episode of season two.
Can Nelly finally tie up all those loose ends?
Grey's Anatomy
RTÉ2, 9pm
The medical drama begins its 16th season.
Ellen Pompeo is still in the lead role, with her character Meredith facing up to her part in an insurance fraud.
A Very English Scandal
RTÉ One, 10.35pm
Are you one of the sizeable number of people who have long been allergic to Hugh Grant? This series may change your mind.
He puts in a fantastic performance as British politician Jeremy Thorpe whose career was derailed in the 1960s when details emerged of his liaisons with a young man. Originally shown on BBC in 2018, this three-parter is a hugely enjoyable watch.
There are even a few scenes set in Dublin.
